3 Historical Drama Shows on Amazon Prime Video You Need to Watch in July

Period romances are all the rage now, and we are thrilled to be here for it!

With Netflix’s Bridgerton not gracing our screens for another two years, we are desperate for more historical romance dramas, and don’t worry! Here are 3 you can watch on Amazon Prime Video right now.

This brand-new show is better than it should be. I won’t give you all the details, but it’s a modern retelling of an old story with a MAJOR TWIST. Whatever you were prepared for- it wasn’t that.  I won’t tell you more but this show is hilarious and filled with plenty of angst and romance. You definitely have to watch this one.

All four seasons of Reign are available for free streaming on Prime right now, and since this show was released a while ago, that means that every season has oodles of episodes to keep you entertained. The show is also a retelling of historical figures but strays very heavily from the original story. It takes a bit of a modern twist but still sticks to the traditional period drama format.

Another Amazon Original, The Collection takes place in more recent history: in the aftermath of WWII, as France struggles to recover from a bloody war. It follows the story of a struggling Paris fashion house as it comes to grips with the new world and fights to make fashion relevant again amidst the scars of war.
