This hilariously funny and inappropriate show is very loosely based on the true story of Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia, as she rises to power. The actors in this show are excellent, and the story is hysterical. The show calls itself “genre-bending, anti-historical,” which sums up the relationship this show has to traditional period dramas.
Will Trent
This is a regular cop show, just like so many on Television, except… it’s not really. The main character Will Trent is an outsider and a renegade, and you will grow to love him. This show just started, but you should catch up now, and you’ll have a great new show to add to your weekly watching!
Abbot Elementary
With two seasons and renewed for a third (although the strike will delay that), Abbott Elementary is a “mockumentary” and is a comedy that you’ll enjoy. The show follows a group of teachers in a Philadelphia public school where they’re determined to help their students succeed despite the odds. Outnumbered and underfunded, you’ll get to experience the awkward moments of parent-teacher talks, teacher relationships, and the social media-obsessed principal.
How I Met Your Father
A twist on the original How I Met Your Mother show, How I Met Your Father, turns the story around by switching the genders. But that isn’t the only thing that is changed- the show manages to pay homage to the original series but also stands on its own two feet.
Party Down
This hilarious show follows out-of-work and aspiring actors as they work their day jobs as waiters for LA’s rich and famous and they just wait for their big break.
The Bear
The Bear is the latest critically acclaimed show that has captivated many fans. The story follows Carmy, an award-winning chef, who comes home to save his family’s failing restaurant from ruin.
Only Murders In The Building
This Hulu original Only Murders in the Building features two popular actors and actress Selena Gomez as they attempt to solve the murders in their Upper West Side apartment building. After launching a podcast covering their discoveries, they realize it’s a bit more dangerous than they originally thought. With an unlikely friendship building, the plot thickens.
