“Netflix and chill” means something totally different when you’re a parent. Most couples are tired after a long, busy day of raising kids! Having a “movie and popcorn” date at home is a great way to reconnect with your spouse.

With prices rising each month on food and drinks, having a date night outside of the home isn’t always financially feasible for couples with young kids. Many couples are turning to Netflix to enjoy some time together after the kids go to bed. So grab some popcorn and put the kids to bed early because here are the nine best Netflix shows to watch for at-home date nights.

The 100

The TV science fiction series is great for couples who like some action and also has a good plot line. The series is set almost 100 years after a nuclear war destroyed Earth. A spaceship that housed the entirety of humanity sends 100 juvenile delinquents to discover if Earth is safe to live on. The series follows the first 100 as they find what is left of Earth and learn to live on it again. The series has seven seasons.

Bring on the heat! The series is perfect for an at-home date night, and it has it all- action, romance, and a great story. The historical fiction series is based on the books by Diana Gabaldon and follows the main character, Claire, as she travels back in time to the 1600s in Scotland. The later seasons even end up with the main characters traveling to the United States and settling in the mountains of North Carolina close to the time of the Revolutionary War! The viewer is warned that there are some rather steamy scenes. It’s perfect for a truly romantic date night!

Fall nights and Football can’t get any better for an at-home date night! The nonfiction book by H.G. Bissinger inspired the TV series and follows the rise of a high school football team in Odessa, Texas. The series delves into the story of the coach and his family, as well as many of the lives of the star players on the team.

This is for the off-beat couple who likes prank comedy shows. Two comedians star in the series as two friends from California who pull pranks on different people where they live. Sometimes it’s unclear if it’s real life or a prank, and makes for a fun, slapstick, humorous show.
