Everything goes to hell for newly-pregnant Belinda (Brandy) after her mother-in-law (Kathryn Hunter) moves in. As the diabolical guest tries to get her claws on the child, Belinda must draw the line somewhere…
This horror movie, produced by A24, is being released in theaters this Friday, September 6th.
Caring for an aging relative is a difficult experience, but what if that relative is a charismatic-evangelical racist who claims to have Holy Spirit powers, yet can’t make it to the bathroom? The Front Room, the debut feature from filmmakers and twin brothers Max and Sam Eggers, tells the story of Belinda and Norman Irwin, a struggling young married couple who, reeling from the loss of their first child and expecting their second, agree to take in Norman’s estranged and elderly stepmother Solange in exchange for her large inheritance. But when the irascible, in continent, and wickedly religious Solange decides to move into the front room that Belinda and Norman had always intended to be their child’s nursery, things begin to take a turn for the worse, the weird, and the wild.
Brandy Norwood, who plays the main character Belinda, has a PSA for those who are heading out to watch The Front Room in theaters.
