If you’ve somehow been living under a rock, Netflix has so many great comedy specials on the platform to stream – and they’re adding more all the time. These are some of the best stand-up comedians streaming on Netflix right now. Watch them for a laugh!
Some offer single comedy specials, others in multiple parts, so you can really sink your teeth into some great laughs. Of course, your pick is going to depend on your comedy preferences, so we looked for some fan favorites when it came to comedians.
1. James Acaster

James Acaster’s four-part comedy special Repertoire was released back in 2018 on Netflix. As a British comedian, you can expect James to bring some silly antics – and he does. From jokes about bananas to pulling out props like a wooden duck, if you like offbeat comics, this one’s for you.
2. Bo Burnham

He’s a popular one among the Gen Z crowd, but older folks may not have heard of him. Bo Burnham released a hilarious musical comedy special during pandemic lockdowns, and quite a few of his songs have gone viral. If you’ve ever sung that Jeffrey Bezos song from Tiktok, you owe it to Bo to check him out.
3. Tom Segura

Tom Segura has several specials out on Netflix, including a new one that came out in May of 2023. Folks often describe Tom’s comedy style as deadpan, storytelling, and pretty dark – great if you’re into that sort of thing.
4. John Mulaney

John Mulaney has had a pretty wild life which makes his most recent comedy special unique when it comes to storytelling. He’s often called traditional and unoffensive, but that’s not a bad thing, at least not the way John delivers.
5. Norm MacDonald

Norm MacDonald has a unique way of delivering his dark comedy style that can’t help but make you crack up. His most recent comedy special was released posthumously in 2022 (sadly, Norm has passed away from cancer) and was nominated for multiple Emmy awards.
6. Ali Wong

Most people agree that Ali Wong’s most recent comedy special isn’t as good as her first two. So, if you’ve gotten the wrong impression of Ali, I encourage you to give her other ones a chance.
7. Kathleen Madigan

Kathleen Madigan has had a pretty robust comedy career over the years. She’s also released a few comedy specials, and you should be able to find at least one (Bothering Jesus) on Netflix. If you’ve ever lived in (or visited) the Midwest, it’ll be hard not to laugh at her hilarious anecdotes.
8. Jim Gaffigan

Often considered to be the current king of clean comedy, Jim Gaffigan needs no shock factor to get the joke across. With topics varying from donuts to his 5 kids, parents especially will be able to relate to his Netflix specials.
9. Bert Kreischer

As soon as Bert Kreischer walks on stage without a shirt on, you know his comedy specials are going to be good. He’s one of my favorites, at least when it comes to standup comedy specials anyway. His bro style is polarising; either you like, or you hate it. Be warned!
10. Jimmy Carr

Jimmy Carr is another comedian I’m a big fan of, especially on his quiz show 8 Out of 10 Cats. King of one-liners, Jimmy is a controversial comedian. If you’re a fan of dark, deadpan comedy, check his Netflix specials out ASAP.
11. Nate Bargatze

If you haven’t seen “The Nicest Man in Stand-Up” (according to The Atlantic), it’s time you gave this Grammy-nominated comedian a chance. With an inoffensive comedy style, Nate is great if you want some clean, positive laughs to brighten your day.
12. Katherine Ryan

Katherine Ryan, a Canadian-born comedian based in the UK, has built her career through a combination of standup comedy specials (including one on Netflix) and TV show appearances. Don’t let her looks fool you; Katherine doesn’t hold back – and it’s hilarious.
