And it delivers!

Jane and Guildford take the stage as the classic enemies-to-lovers trope, and they are forced to marry by their parents and society. However, there are some serious plot twists, and it’s insanely hilarious and romantic.

Show Description: Gird your loins for the tragic tale of Lady Jane Grey, the young Tudor noblewoman who was Queen of England for nine days and then beheaded back in good ol’ 1553. Actually… f*ck that. We’re retelling history the way it should have happened: the damsel in distress saves herself. This is an epic tale of true love and high adventure set in an alt-universe of action, history, fantasy, comedy, romance, and rompy-pompy. Buckle up.

This is not the type of show you watch with your parents. There are a lot of steamy and some pretty cringy sex scenes as well. Be Warned!

The 8-episode series is streaming on Prime Video and has gotten excellent reviews. It currently has a 93% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 81% audience score (we can only assume this is from people who cannot appreciate the humor of such lines as “I would thou knowest, the foulest place of my arse is fairer than thy face.”

Update: Unfortunately, the show was canceled after one season (Boo!!) but this is a show that I still think is worth watching EVEN though it was canceled.  You can enjoy it as a mini-series.
