12 Movies Fans Say They’ve Watched Over 100 Times

How many times have you seen your favorite movie? While most of us probably watched a few over and over as kids, we also have a movie or two we keep coming back to as adults, too. Some people more than others: we rounded up 12 movies fans say they’ve watched over 100 times!

Personally, I saw The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in the theatre five times and then several more at home, so that’s definitely one of my picks for a movie that holds up again and again. But I certainly haven’t come close to 100 watches on it, that’s for sure!

Thankfully other folks have some great answers that you might want to add to your “watch” list too.

1. Clue

A movie based on a board game has no business being this good, but Clue absolutely delivers. How did fans get to 100 viewings of this one, though? Well, apparently, it’s the perfect movie for every occasion!

Whether you’re bored, drunk, tired, entertaining friends, or just want something on in the background, Clue is, for some, the go-to film.

2. Mean Girls

Not everyone is a fan, but everyone who’s a fan has seen this movie multiple times. You’d think the jokes would get tired, but they seem to get funnier the more you hear them. That’s probably why it’s so quotable, even now!

3. The Mummy

We’re, of course, talking about the original The Mummy here, not that new one. I’ve probably seen it a dozen times or more, such a great film – so I get how someone could watch this one 100 times!

4. The 5th Element

This is one of my favorite movies of all time, but I don’t come close to some of this movie’s fans. One commenter shared that they have 4 copies of it on Blu-Ray (3 different editions)!

5. Shaun of the Dead

A lot of people who say they’ve seen this one a lot watched it repeatedly as teenagers. Shaun of the Dead is both hilarious and visually interesting, so I can totally see the appeal of watching it multiple times.

6. Aliens

It’s a good movie, so maybe we shouldn’t be shocked to know there are several folks who claim to have seen this one around 100 times.

One person said they have about 90 percent of the script memorized – not surprising if they’ve seen it so much. Another, more perplexingly, said it’s the perfect nap movie. Personally, I didn’t find it very relaxing…

7. Die Hard

Die Hard is one of the best movies ever, and it’s actually on my annual Christmas movie (fight me) line-up too. Every time you watch it, you see something new. If anything, it’s actually at its best once you’ve seen it a couple of times and can really appreciate the nuance.

8. Moana

Actually, I might have seen this one close to 100 times. Or at least listened to it, anyway. And it’s for the same reason as the person who suggested it:

“My daughter will not stop.”

9. Back to the Future

Someone said that they can recite about 75% of the movie at this point, which is pretty impressive. Given that Back to the Future has a huge cult following, it’s really no surprise that repeat watchers for this one exist out there.

10. Happy Gilmore

A great comedy; I’ve also seen Happy Gilmore more than once, but nowhere near 100 times. That being said, it’s definitely worth re-watching if you haven’t seen it in a while!

11. The Lord of the Rings

Unlike me, the person who claims to have seen this 100 times is talking about the first film. This has mostly come from introducing the series to new people, which I guess means there’s hope for us LOTR fans to make friends after all!

12. Super Troopers

All the replies to this suggestion were funny quotes from the movie, which makes it pretty clear why someone might want to watch it again and again. Who doesn’t need a laugh some days?

TV shows capture our hearts, but it’s not often they manage to stay consistently good throughout the series. Some start strong, then turn formulaic, and others hype us up only to end with a disappointing series finale.
