The Shows That Lost Our Interest: 12 Series We Just Gave Up On

Are you the kind of person who has to see a series through, even if you’re no longer interested? Or do you happily add shows to the do not finish list and move on? If you fall into the second group, this one’s for you: here’s some TV shows fans got really far into but eventually quit before watching the conclusion.

I guess they’ll never know how the story ended!

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time is a show with a really cool story that had a lot of potential. Unfortunately at some point the plot (and twists) started getting downright silly.

This fan comment was a great example: “You have great arcs for characters with growth like Rumple, then he has to have that same arc 3 times and it never hits properly again.”

So many reasons people gave up on this show (myself included). First, he kept flip flopping in terms of his morals, especially surrounding killing people. It also went from serious show to teen drama pretty quick – which definitely isn’t for everyone.

Grey’s Anatomy

Oh Grey’s Anatomy, you went on for so long. The give up point for this one varied, with some folks stopping around season 6 and others bailing during the second last season. Think about that for a minute: they watched a show for 18 years but didn’t stay for the ending!

Someone commented with “How much trauma can a group of doctors go through” which I think pretty much sums up why folks couldn’t stick this popular series out.

Pretty Little Liars

This show was actually pretty confusing for the viewer with so many characters and plot points happening at once. And not in a good, clever way… It was just too much.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead started off exciting but dragged on and on. Some folks stuck with it, but even more stopped watching when they realized it wasn’t going to end anytime soon.

This show took the world by storm when it came out so a lot of folks checked it out. Whether it was because they didn’t care for the characters (looking at you Piper) or it just didn’t find it gripping enough, plenty of people dropped Orange is the New Black before it ended.

House of Cards

After they removed Kevin Spacey (for good reasons) the show’s dynamic changed which made it less interesting for some folks. Of course, it was actually going downhill before Spacey’s scandal which made it all the easier for people to give up on the story.

Suits

Suits is a classic example of a show that you go into expecting one thing and it turns out to be something else. At least for the people who dropped it, that is.

“It just turned into a soap opera” one comment said.

Shameless

Some folks were Shameless in their dropping of this show before it was over. For a few it was just that they stopped watching without any real reasons, but others found it was just too negative and self destructive for them to handle any longer.

The Blacklist

Another one that started off good but fell off, The Blacklist suffers from being on the air for too long without real direction. Just ask fans!

The Blacklist was great until they ran out of ideas and just kept recycling the same plot over and over.”

Riverdale

Oh Riverdale, no one had any idea where this show would go but definitely not where it went. What’s even more shocking is that this show ran for 7 seasons!

After they took Eric and Kelso out of the show (the actors moved on) it just wasn’t the same, so a lot of folks gave up. Thankfully they returned for the series finale so we at least got a satisfying ending to this popular show… Too bad a lot of people gave up before they could see it though.
